Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our community SLT team based at the QE2 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City and the Hyper acute Stroke unit at Lister Hospital. This is a full time role.

Applicants should have experience of working with adults with acquired disorders of communication and swallowing in outpatient and community settings across a range of clinical areas including voice, progressive neuro and fluency. Experience in Stroke rehabilitation is essential. Experience with videofluoroscopy is desirable.

The Lister Hospital community SLT team is part of the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service covering acute and community patients across the whole of Hertfordshire. As a county-wide service of 29 WTE staff, we also offer:

*Fully implemented appraisal and supervision systems, and regular Team and Service Meetings
* Regular In-service training, CPD support and opportunities for development
* Encouragement to participate in service development projects
* Clinical leads for advice, support and supervision
* Opportunities to develop intermediate/advanced dysphagia competencies including videofluoroscopy
* Excellent AAC provision and links to regional Hubs
* Use of SystmOne as electronic patient record and mobile working
* Good transport links to London and the surrounding areas.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is desirable (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
