The Radbourne Unit is an Acute Inpatient facility that serves the population of Derby City and the South County of Derbyshire. The unit comprises of 3 acute inpatient wards and an Enhanced care Ward.

The post holder will be working full-time on The Radbourne Unit under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist. Ward 33 is a 20 bedded Acute Inpatient ward that provides care and treatment for people with mental health issues.

The post holder will be working with a group of up to 20 patients with mental health difficulties which are acute in nature. He/she will be expected to see the patients regularly and at the request of the clinical team, attend relevant meetings (including the weekly MDT meeting, clinical governance meeting, incident reviews and CPA meetings), prepare reports (for Tribunals and Managers Hearings under supervision..

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Trust’s medical audit programme, in the training of other doctors, and medical students, and will have the option to participate in the Trust’s Post-graduate medical education programme.

DBS Check

The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service formerly known as CRB) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £26 and an enhanced check is £44.

Under new guidance, we are obliged to check employment history for at least the past 3 years for successful candidates. Please ensure that the referees you provide us cover at least the past 3 years of your employment/training.
