We provide hospital and community based services to people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil. Our vision is to care for our communities and patients by preventing ill-health, promoting better health, providing excellent services and reducing the need for inpatient care wherever possible through the provision of strengthened home, primary and community care.

This full time post is one of ten specialty doctor posts within the Mental Health Directorate of Cwm Taf Health Board. The post is based in the Taff Ely CMHT, but the post holder will be expected to work at various sites within the Local Health Board area.

The post holder will be clinically responsible to Dr Sunil Joseph and Dr Abdelazim Ali, the Team Consultant Psychiatrists, and managerially responsible to Dr Adarsh Shetty, Clinical Director. The post holder will be required to liaise with other senior clinicians as and when necessary.

The post holder will be operationally based in the CMHT. All admissions on treatment wards and outpatients for adults of working age are managed by the CMHT.

The post holder will be expected to work at other LHB sites and elsewhere in the community, including patients’ homes from time to time.

With effect from 1st January 2016 points 1,2,3 and 4 on AfC Pay Band 1 and Pay Band 2 will be adjusted to £16,132 to reflect the incorporation of the living wage’
