Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, a large University of Manchester Teaching Trust is highly regarded by patients, other NHS Trusts and independent organisations.
This is a new post which is required to support Imaging based at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT).
The Radiology Directorate at SRFT provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic examinations. The post holder will be joining a team of Consultant Radiologists and Specialty Trainees. The department foundations are built upon established technology and innovation; evidence of which can be seen with our extensive portfolio of radiological equipment.
You will provide independent plain film reporting and ultrasound and will also have bleep holding duties. Fluoroscopy and CT examinations performed/reported will be checked by a Consultant depending on the expertise of the successful candidate.
Since the 1st April 2012, SRFT has become a key part of the Manchester Major Trauma Centre Collaborative and therefore will provide excellent Trauma experience. The Trust is the Neuroscience Centre and the Comprehensive Stroke Centre for the GM population and the post will also therefore provide excellent exposure to Neuroradiology. Neuroradiology at SRFT provides a ‘hub and spoke’ neuroradiology service for several Trusts within Greater Manchester.
In addition the Trust is the designated cancer centre for the NW sector of Greater Manchester. The site houses the Christie at Salford which is a satellite centre for The Christie Hospital. This opened in July 2010 and includes a stereotactic radiosurgery service. SRFT is also a centre for Bariatric surgery and a National Centre for Intestinal Failure. SRFT is a large Teaching Hospital providing both undergraduate and post graduate education.
