Job Description

Are you committed to delivering the best of care through the best of people?

(Associated University Hospital, University of London)

Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, King’s College, London

Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, Kent, UK

With an innovative, committed team making positive changes happen daily, there has never been a better time to join Medway. We are seeking highly motivated, inspirational future leaders to drive our departments forward. In your role providing a high quality “shop floor” clinical presence as a Speciality Doctor you’ll be vital in the transformation of Medway.

Working in close co-operation with nursing, managerial and medical colleagues, as a Speciality Doctor you will provide high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients. With at least 3 years experience in full time hospital service and full registration with the GMC, you will not only be committed to continuing your personal development, but will participate in the teaching, research and governance programmed within the Department.

As a designated Trauma Unit within the South East London, Kent & Medway Trauma Network, with close ties to King’s College Hospital, the Trust has specialty emergency in-patient facilities such as interventional cardiology, NICU, and vascular surgery. As well as CCU, ITU, interventional radiology and medical and surgical HDUs. Also on site is a primary care centre for the management of patients attending the ED who do not require ED care.

With enhanced salary packages, negotiable terms, and a strong Development Program for those with excellent track records and experience in Emergency Medicine, this is a unique opportunity to take up a post with flexibility that meets both your career aspirations and lifestyle.

This post will close before the intended closing date should sufficient number of suitable applications be received. Therefore, if you are interested in applying for this role, we suggest that you do so at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.

If you have not heard from us within 21 days of the closing date, please assume that you have not been shortlisted on this occasion. We wish to stress that no discourtesy is intended in following such a procedure, and you should not let this deter you from future applications.

Successful applicants will be notified of interview arrangements via e-mail, sms text or telephone from our resoricing team or a link via trac.job

We are committed to Equality of Opportunity for everyone and will guarantee an interview to any disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
