Specialty doctor in assisted conception and reproductive medicine
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic specialty doctor to join our Fertility unit.
The post holder will work in our Fertility Centre alongside 3 Consultants and an associate specialist, in addition to participating in established research projects. The Homerton fertility centre has moved into a new purpose built assisted conception unit in September 2008.
This post offers the post holder an opportunity to work in all aspects of assisted conception and would be ideal for a person who wishes to pursue a long term career in assisted conception.
The post holder will also have an opportunity to work alongside Professor Roy Homburg who is the Head of Research for the Centre. We would expect the post holder coordinate with the team on research project and write few review articles for publication and complete mandatory audits.
The postholder will also co-ordinate assisted conception treatment in the fertility unit and take up HFES designated audits. The post holder would also take a lead in teaching juniors and improving the teaching of overseas observers at the Homerton hospital. The post holder will also take a senior lead in improving the quality of care provided at the Centre, improving the patient information and take an active part in the marketing of the Centre.
The Fertility Centre at Homerton Hospital is well established and provides high quality diagnostic services and clinical care to women presenting with fertility problems. There are a wide range of treatments available which include ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, in-vitro fertilisation and Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection. The post holder will not participate in the general O+G out of hour’s rota unless requested with the obstetric department. The fertility out of hours cover will include a 1:4 Saturday morning cover and 1 late clinic a week
The Fertility Unit performs approximately 1100 cycles of IVF each year, and offers the full range of standard assisted reproductive techniques. The Unit is expanding, after having moved to a brand new facility and this is an exciting time to be joining the team. This gives an excellent opportunity for a doctor to train in all aspects of assisted conception
We are looking to appoint a specialty doctor from 1 December 2016 . The post is suitable for experienced individuals looking to pursue a career in assisted conception. It is desirable that the doctor has reasonable experience of IVF treatment under indirect supervision. It is essential that the doctor has good knowledge of research and is willing to show commitment to research
