Specialty Doctor for a post in Elderly Medicine/ Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders

Full Time - 10 PA’s

An excellent opportunity exists for a dynamic team player to join Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialty Doctor with an interest in Elderly Medicine/ Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders
The post holder would join a dynamic team looking after patients with Parkinson’s disease and related conditions, in addition to patients with general and geriatric medical conditions.
The team consists of a Consultant Physician, Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist(s) a core trainee CT2, and a Foundation Doctor. We enjoy close links with our Neurologist and work together to provide seamless patient care. Previous team members have progressed academically through the MRCP and have valued the specialist experience in Parkinson’s disease, advanced therapies for PD, inpatient and outpatient experience in addition to high quality General and Geriatric medicine experience, training.

Northern Lincolnshire is an attractive place to live and work, with superb value housing in award winning market towns and villages as well as larger centres. Excellent local grammar schools compete favourably with independent schools in national league tables. Humberside airport, Hull ferry terminals and good transport links provide convenient national and international access. The area has to be visited to appreciate the benefits of living and working here.

This post has fallen vacant due to the completion of tenure of the current post holder.

All you need is:
Good experience in General /Geriatric medicine at registrar level; (please see desirable attributes in job description)
Motivation and enthusiasm; and a desire to excel.

There is an excellent modern Development and Education Centre with extensive facilities. We have a very active postgraduate department with a robust undergraduate/postgraduate teaching program, an extensive library with print, digital resources/facilities The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the teaching of medical students and will be involved in teaching Sheffield Medical School Undergraduates, Core Trainees and Foundation Trainees and there will be opportunities for audit/research.
