Specialty Doctors in Neuro-rehabilitation (2 posts available)
Full time/part time opportunity
40 hours per week, 1:6 on-call commitment (pro rota).
These posts are for an initial 12 month fixed term with the possibility of extending.
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is a non-profit, medical charity, a hospital and home, based in Putney, South West London. We provide both short and long-term specialist services (assessment, rehabilitation and disability management) for adults with profound or complex disabilities resulting from damage to the brain or nervous system. Through these services, we seek to enable people with profound neuro-disability to enjoy an optimal quality of life.
Applications are invited for a highly motivated Specialty Doctor in brain injury rehabilitation. These are full/part time, substantial appointment for 10 programmed activities (40 hours) per week, Monday to Friday with a 1 in 6 on-call commitment (pro rota). The posts are suitable for job share.
The Specialty Doctor is encouraged to play an active role in all aspects of the assessment and management of patients. The particular role of the Specialty Doctor is to provide continuity of medical care, day-to-day management of the in-patient service, report preparation and close liaison with the Hospital’s friendly interdisciplinary team. The post holders will be working closely with consultants in neurological rehabilitation.
Applicants must hold full registration with the GMC. In addition, experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is essential. Experience in neurological rehabilitation or in a relevant specialty is desirable.
