Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. FIXED TERM MIDDLE DOCTOR - TRAUMA & ORTHOPAEDICS
We are looking to appoint fixed term Middle Grade Doctors to work in our busy department of Trauma & Orthopaedics. This post is a fixed term post for 2 years with possible extension. The successful candidate will be expected to partake in a 1 in 9 weekend part resident/part non-resident on-call rota. The position is for 12 Programmed Activities per week (10 + 2)
Completion of at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or pro-rata if undertaken on a flexible/part time basis) of which two years or more must be in a specialty training or fixed term programme in Trauma & Orthopaedics, or equivalent experience and competencies is essential. Applicants must also possess full registration with the GMC with a Licence to Practice.
The Department provides innumarable training opportunities and have supported trainees to secure initial assessment of competences, Completion of Core training and achieving the necessary competences in preparation for Article 14.
The department is particulary proud of its record for providing the previous speciality doctors with the necessary knowledge, skills and competency to progress back in to speciality training.
The successful candidate will join a team of 10 Consultants, 8 Specialty Doctors, 1 Associate Specialist, 2 Specialty Higher , 2 Core Trainees, 6 Foundation Year 2 and 2 Foundation Year 1 Doctors.
