Job Description




The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department would like to invite applications for two vacancies that have arisen at ST3+ Doctor level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Previous experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to ST3 level is essential.

There is a full-time vacancy to commence from 3rd August 2016 until 31st January 2017.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and forward thinking team of 9 full time Consultants who currently provide services for Obstetrics, Urogynaecology, Subfertility, Gynaecological Oncology, Fetomaternal Medicine. The department is supported by 1 Clinical Assistant, a Specialty Doctor post and 12 Specialist Training Doctors (6 ST3+ and 2 ST1-2 in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 4 ST in General Practice).

Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust currently undertakes 3000 deliveries per annum. All Consultant led maternity services are based at the Leighton hospital site alongside a Midwifery Led Unit. Our Obstetric services have been awarded CNST 3. The Trust has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which is a level two unit. The population served is approximately 280,000.

The successful candidate will share the general workload with the other middle grade doctors in the department.

The post will incorporate both General Obstetrics and Gynaecology commitment with 1 in 8 on call Rota.
