Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust is responsible for providing mental health services for people of all ages across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, as well as providing some specialist services across the whole of North London and beyond. Since January 2011, the Trust also provides adult and children’s community health services in Enfield, following the transfer of Enfield Community Services from NHS Enfield.

North London Forensic Service

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Band 6
F/T (375 hrs)
Based at HMPYOI Feltham

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language
Therapist to join our innovative and dynamic therapies team at HMPYOI Feltham.

The main focus of the work will be assessment and intervention for young people with speech and language difficulties as well as the production of accessible information and the delivery of communication training for non-speech and language therapy colleagues. The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising of a range of mental health professionals. Therapy interventions are part of an overall aim to reduce re-offending.

Successful candidates will have strong engagement and motivation skills, and be able to work well with service users with an offending history. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of working with young people and/or a forensic caseload are essential.
