Job Description

We are looking to recruit Staff Nurses with a broad skillset who can demonstrate clinical excellence in the acute setting.

Here at UHS, we recognise the significant contribution your skills and expertise makes to patient care. In light of this we are offering a one off payment of £2000 to new external applicants appointed within our service, to show our commitment to you. In exchange, you will be committed to remaining with your allocated ward area for a minimum of 12 months, working in partnership with like-minded healthcare professionals in developing others whilst actively contributing to patient safety, experience and outcomes.

Our Trauma and Orthopaedic service is a leading National Trauma Centre, supported by a large team of specialist experts.

As part our ever expanding and evolving service we are looking for highly motivated Nurses to join the team within our 28-bedded trauma ward with a 4 bedded GP assessment bay. Ward F2 is split into male and female bays and deals with simple trauma through to complex poly-trauma. We also have close links with the trauma and plastics service to review, support and advise on our acutely unwell and more critical patients.

The wider Trauma and Orthopaedic Care Group consists of:

- National and Local Major Trauma Centre
- Elective Orthopaedic Surgery
- Step Down to Rehab
- Fast Track Fracture Neck of Femur service
- Outpatients

All specialities are supported by a team of Specialist Nurses/Co-ordinators and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.

The successful candidate will be dedicated and pro-active in ensuring high quality, evidence based care. You will be an individual who demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development, a strong commitment to developing others and sound decision-making skills.
