Brief Description of the Role:
The Oncology and Haematology day case units on Wards 15 and 7 require an enthusiastic full time experienced staff nurse to assist in the smooth running of the units. The primary place of work is in the day case units, however the role may involve working on the ward involved in the administration of chemotherapy chemotherapy and other treatmentsto both in and out patients. The successful candidate will be required to provide nursing care in a multi - disciplinary team structure. The post holder must be an RGN, have previous ward experience and experience of teaching junior staff both qualified and unqualified. IV skills including cannulation and phlebotomy are essential. A Health service related degree/diploma or relevant cancer/palliative care courses in addition to experience of administration chemotherapy would be desirable. The post holder must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to personnel and service development and a dedication to providing a high standard of nursing care.
