About the Department
The discharge lounge is a 13 seated or 4 bedded/6 seated clinical area that cares for male and female patients, 8am until 8pm. The patients are admitted from many of our wards including Medical Emergency Assessment Unit, Emergency department and the ward areas Caring for medically fit patients who are awaitng discharge home
The environment can be very busy providing care to the medically fit and facilitating a safe discharge in a timely manner that at times can be very demanding.
The nursing team are caring, friendly, and compassionate and provide a high standard of nursing care.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit to the post of band 5 staff nurse to join our existing team . This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced nurse or a registered nurse looking to expand their practice. The discharge Lounge will offer a varied experience, of multidiciplinary working, providing the candidate with plenty of opportunities to gain and build on clinical skills and share knowledge gained in previous areas. The position involves working a flexible shift pattern of both long days Monday to Friday and shorter shifts at a weekend. Training and career development will be available.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working within the nursing setting He/She will have experience of multidisciplinary working and will demonstrate excellent communication skills.
