Job Description

We are looking to recruit experienced staff nurses with a broad skillset who can demonstrate clinical excellence in the acute setting.

Here at UHS, we recognise the significant contribution your skills and expertise makes to patient care. In light of this we are offering a one off payment of £2000 to new external applicants with an active NMC Pin appointed within our service, to show our commitment to you. In exchange, you will be committed to remaining with your allocated ward area for a minimum of 12 months, working in partnership with like-minded healthcare professionals in developing others whilst actively contributing to patient safety, experience and outcomes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Band 5 Staff Nurse to work within our Acute Neurosurgery and Neurology wards. D Neuro (male) and E Neuro (female) each house 24 beds. We also have admission / step down beds for patients who are transferred from Neuro HDU. These beds accommodate all acute neuro surgical conditions, including subarachnoid haemorrhage and head injuries.

The Wessex Neurological Centre (WNC) provides a dedicated, integrated 24 hour acute neurosurgical and neurological assessment, investigation and treatment service. Being one of the largest neuroscience centers in the country we provide services to a population of three million people. Sitting within a large teaching hospital, we have clear priorities for maintaining high standards of care and developing our specialist services for the community. The unit consists of
