Nuffield Health is all about people. As a not for profit organisation, everything we do is about looking after the individual. To support and encourage them to be as healthy as they can be. With a holistic approach to health and wellbeing we connect diagnosis and treatment, prevention and fitness across one, nationwide network. Whether you’re currently working in the NHS or in a private setting, now’s the time to apply to Nuffield Health if you’re open to a more interesting and rewarding career.

About this outpatients role
This role combines empathetic care with high levels of expertise. It’s about reassuring and encouraging patients while also having the clinical skills to take part in procedures and recovery.

At Nuffield Health we trust our nurses to use their own judgment and skills, so you’ll be respected and valued as a professional. Working with us, you’ll have exposure to a wide range of procedures, requiring all your skills and experience.

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager you’ll be part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team, linking in with colleagues from other areas in order to provide the best care for our patients.

Your key accountabilities will be:

  • Supervising and supporting clinical support staff and junior staff in the delivery of care, providing education, training and mentorship to meet development needs
  • Delivering high quality patient care, which is clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate
  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care as part of a collaborative programme

Nuffield Health Tunbridge Hospital opened in 1968 from funds raised by the local community and has established itself as a leading private healthcare provider in the Kent region.
The hospital has built a strong reputation for providing the highest standards of clinical excellence. As a not for profit hospital, we reinvest our profits into our facilities and services. We’ve recently opened a new theatre complex and day case suite and a new static MRI Unit.

Our areas of specialty include cosmetic surgery, cancer services and orthopaedics. You can choose your own dedicated consultant who, along with our team of matron-led nurses, will offer complete care and support tailored to your individual needs.
All of our staff are highly trained in providing care on an individual basis, with an overall aim of creating a caring environment to encourage a speedy recovery and well-being.

Nursing qualifications, skills and values
As a nurse registered with the appropriate governing body, you’ll have the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration. You’ll also have post-registration experience. Immediate / Advanced Life Support is desirable.

Like us, you believe in putting people first. So you’ll appreciate having the time to fully understand each case from a technical and personal viewpoint. You’ll instinctively meet patient’s needs, giving them and their families the comfort and reassurance they need when they’re at their most vulnerable. This is the type of care that comes naturally to a talented professional.

You’ll be an excellent communicator and team worker – flexible and motivated. As part of the wider hospital team, you’ll interact with practitioners from other areas because you understand the importance of continuity in patient care.
