Staff Nurse - Surgical Wards

Job Description

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

AfC Band 5 - £21,176 – £27,625 (Pro rata for part time staff)

Ward 9 – 3 FTE

Ward 10 – 18 FTE

Ward 11 – 3 FTE

Ward 20a – 17 FTE

Ward 20b – 2 FTE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Division of Surgery. We have posts on all our emergency and elective wards and there will be an opportunity to rotate in order to gain experience in all aspects of surgical nursing.

You must be a level 1 RGN. You will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service and be able to work on a shift rota basis.

Successful applicants will be asked to apply for a Disclosure (criminal record check).

The Trust is committed to operating flexible working practices wherever possible. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary / Multi Agency team working under the direction of senior nurses within the Division of Surgery.
