Job Description

As a nurse at the University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM), you will benefit from a number of educational programs and career paths. We are committed to the career development of our nurses and will assist you to develop your career in highly specialised clinical area.

In addition, you will find that all UHSM cardiothoracic nurses are respected for their science, compassion, skill and expertise. Nurses collaborate with physicians on numerous projects.

We are a16 bedded specialist cardiothoracic ward admitting patients for lung surgery and taking care of them post operatively. The ward incorporates 6-8 High Observation beds. This area receives level 1 post operative lung patients. This allows us to have a healthy patient to nurse ratio of between 4-6 patients dependant on acuity.

We have an opportunity for a keen, motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse/s to join our team in cardiothoracic.

This will be an ideal opportunity for newly qualified nurses or experienced nurses who are eager to expand and progress their nursing practice. On appointment the successful candidate/s will receive full support in education and preceptorship/mentorship.

We are looking for individuals with a genuine interest in Cardiothoracic who are hard working and passionate about delivering high standards of patient care and are motivated towards maintaining and improving their own skills.

A flexible approach to shift patterns is essential. Flexible working hours can include Part time, and job share. Permanent nights will be considered
