We are delighted to be able to advertise for a part time permanent band 5 staff nurse to join our team in the Wiltshire Cardiac Centre. The post is within the Cardiology Outpatient Department.

The Cardiology Outpatient Department is a busy, dynamic department dealing with patients with a diverse range of cardiac conditions and performing various investigations. We run a variety of clinics, including consultant and nurse led clinics, and we work closely with the cardiology specialist nurses and the cardiac physiologists. We also work very closely with the Cardiac Catheter Lab.

The successful applicant will be willing to undertake further developmental skills such as venepuncture & cannulation, airway management, rhythm recognition and Intermediate Life Support.

All applicants must have an interest in cardiology and preferably have experience within this discipline. The successful applicants will be given opportunities to spend time in other areas of the department such as the Catheter Lab and cardiac physiology for professional development.

The post holder must be hard working, caring, have good communication skills and be committed to maintaining high standards of care.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period. The probationary period works alongside the induction process to help create a positive and supportive working environment that allows new staff to learn the key elements of the role within a reasonable and realistic timescale.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates that are offered a position after the 1st July 2016 will be required to pay for their own DBS checks if one is required for the post they are offered. For standard DBS checks the cost is £26 and will recovered from the first months pay; for enhanced DBS checks the cost is £44 and will be split over the first 2 months pay. (£22 each month)

If you are offered a bank post that requires a DBS you will need to pay for this prior to commencing.
