Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Cockermouth sub locality of Allerdale to recruit a staff nurse to work on Isel Ward, Cockermouth Community Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic staff nurse to work as part of our dedicated nursing team; which currently holds 11 beds with a busy patient flow.

The post holder will have close working relationships with the Community Nursing, the rehabilitation, medical, Adult Social Care and third sector services. This role will support the implementation of the Success Regime and the Integrated Care communities. This is an exciting time of change and development within the locality which provides an opportunity for professional development.

The successful applicant will be an experienced 1st level registered general nurse with evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to this post. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a changing environment and have good communication skills. You will be supported by the Ward Sister and senior staff nurses in the role. The post holder will be delivering nursing care covering a twenty-four hour period including public holidays and weekends.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £2600 + Administration cost of £400 = deduction from salary as a one off payment or over 3months at £10 a month

Enhanced Check: £4400 + administration cost of £400 = deduction from salary as one off payment or £15 deduction from 1st months salary, £1100 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
