Post: Staff Nurse Band D Post (comparable to AFC Band 5) - St Luke’s Hospice Therapies and Rehabilitation Centre

Salary: SLH Band D, £21,802 - £28,203 per annum, pro rata dependant on experience

Hours: 375 hours per week, part-time hours negotiable

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Staff Nurse at St Luke’s Hospice Band D grade. The successful applicant will be joining the Therapies and Rehabilitation Centre contributing to the delivery of high standards of clinical care within the hospice setting. The purpose of the centre is to be an integral part of the specialist palliative care provision, by the hospice to adults with a palliative diagnosis.

The post holder will provide specialist palliative care and support to patients attending the Therapies and Rehabilitation Centre. The post holder will undertake holistic assessment of patients with specific reference to symptom management, patient and carer support, setting achievable outcomes and creating a structured programme based on patient needs, incorporating care that reflects and embodies the fundamental principles of palliative care. The role will be to work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of a co-ordinated MDT service.

Applicants for this post will need to be first level registered nurses with significant post-registration experience with a minimum of one year’s palliative care experience. You will be motivated, committed and have a flexible approach with a passion to progress. Evidence of continuing professional and personal development at diploma level is essential.
