Job Description

QEHB provides direct clinical services to nearly 900,000 patients every year, serving a regional, national and international population. We are a regional centre for cancer, trauma, renal dialysis, burns and plastics and have the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe. The Trust has the largest kidney programme in the UK and is a major specialist centre for burns and plastic surgery.

We provide a series of highly specialist cardiac, liver, oncology and neurosurgery services to patients from across the UK.

We are world-renowned for our trauma care and have developed pioneering surgical techniques in the management of ballistic and blast injuries, including bespoke surgical solutions for previously unseen injuries. As a result of its clinical expertise in treating trauma patients and military casualties, QEHB has been designated both a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK’s only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).

Ward 411 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital cares for neurology, surgical and medical patients giving you the fantastic opportunity to enhance and develop your skills and abilities in a number of different areas. By being exposed to patients with a range of long and shorter term conditions, alongside surgical and neurological disorders you are in the unique position to develop wide ranging skills and enhance your knowledge in order to be part of a team delivering high quality and innovative care. You will be given the opportunity to undertake a range of in house training days, attend externally run conferences, post graduate study as well as learn new clinical skills to support you in your role. The supportive team and dedicated clinical educator will strive to help you achieve your developmental goals.

Please note that a literacy and drug calculation assessment will take place prior to interview. Both full time and part time vacancies will be considered.
