Staff Nurse posts – Prospect Park Hospital
Prospect Park Hospital is the sole NHS provider of Inpatient Mental Health Service to the people of Berkshire. The purpose built hospital hosts four adult mental health admission wards, two older adult mental health admission wards and a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU). Each ward is staff with a range of professionals which include nurse, doctors, occupational therapists and assistants, psychologists and assistants. The Inpatient services links in closely with six separate Community Pathway Services alongside the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. The Inpatient Service also hosts three health based Places of Safety (POS), a gym, therapy centre and sanctuary. The wards are mixed sex and have a majority of single, en-suite rooms, with singe sex lounges and communal areas. The Inpatient Teams services are supported by a Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Specialist and two Senior Nurses. The Service is led by the Head of Inpatient and Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team Service and Clinical Director.
We are currently recruiting to several Inpatient areas for Band 5 RMN staff. This role will include:
•Being clinically responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of effective nursing care. He/she will liaise with other Professionals and with those providing support services
•Occasionally as part of his/ her professional development plan, take charge of the ward under the supervision of more senior qualified nursing staff member
•Ensure that the clinical, environmental and social needs of the patient are met by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care, seeking guidance and direction from senior nursing staff working in the unit where necessary
•Participate in own training and professional development and manage and supervise a team of junior staff and participate in their training and professional development.

For newly qualified staff a peceptorship programme is required for the first 12 months of post qualification.
