The Coronary Care Unit [CCU] is a 10 bedded unit, Post Coronary Care is a 16 bedded unit, divided into two separate nursing areas. In addition we also house a Cardiac Catheter Suite. Post holders may be expected to rotate around all 3 clinical areas. The Coronary Care Unit has state of the art cardiac monitors with a computerised rhythm alarm system. The Post Coronary Care Unit houses the cardiac rehabilitation ward, which delivers patient centred individualised health education to patients with Coronary Heart Disease. You will be a Registered Nurse with the ability to work flexibly as part of the team. You will require first level registration and will have recent experience in an acute cardiac environment and thus possess sound cardiac nursing skills. The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of patient care and capable of working without direct supervision plus be able to provide guidance to more junior members of staff. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in flexible shift working and to rotate between all areas of Cardiology to meet the needs of the service.
