Are you a passionate, enthusiastic and committed nurse who takes pride in delivering compassionate care and with an interest in Care of the Older Person?

If this describes you then we have permanent opportunities for Staff Nurses to join our dedicated and dynamic team on Ward B14. We are an Acute Medical Dementia Friendly Ward specialising in the care of the Older Person and also Parkinson’s Care.

The majority of our patients often have multiple medical conditions including those experiencing symptoms of confusion, delirium and during different stages of dementia. We also receive patients from the stroke unit who are ready for rehabilitation/ discharge.

We are proud to say that we have invested in our ward to develop a Dementia friendly environment and use the ‘this is me’ communication tool to inform and support individualised patient care.

The ideal candidate would be expected to deliver the highest standards of care to our patients and have a keen interest in falls prevention, dementia care, tissue viability and nutrition and hydration. We work closely with the palliative care teams to give excellent end of life care and support to our patients and you will also have the opportunity to gain experience in complex discharge planning. You must be enthusiastic and willing to develop your skills and knowledge to contribute to service development.

Values underpinning the 6C’s of Nursing and a desire to improve patient care are essential for this post.
