Job Description

Our trust manages three hospitals in Worcestershire: the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch; Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and Worcestershire Royal Hospital. We also manage a surgery ward at Evesham Community Hospital.

We provide acute services to a population of over 500,000 and our staff are recognised as providing good and outstanding patient-centred care.

In Worcestershire, hospital services are under review. Over the next year, we will be working with Clinical Commissioning Groups to plan the best way for services to be delivered from our three hospitals. It will involve centralising some services, and changing the way we work.

B5 Staff Nurse – Alexandra Hospital

Part Time / Full Time posts

Due to the continuing expansion of the Endoscopy Service an exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered nurses who are interested in a new career in Endoscopy.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Endoscopy Directorate works across four sites (Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Malvern Community Hospital) and is also involved in the National Bowel Screening and Bowel Scope Programmes.

Our current vacancies are at Alexandra Hospital, which also supports activity at other sites when necessary.

Alexandra Endoscopy Unit currently has two procedure rooms and delivers a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in the specialties of Gastro-intestinal medicine, colo-rectal surgery and respiratory medicine.

We are looking for highly motivated and adaptable people who are committed to providing the highest standards of care for our patients.

The successful candidates will be expected to participate (after training) in an out of hours on call rota which will ensure that patients requiring an emergency endoscopy will receive this procedure within two hours.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to our other sites as the service requires.

Successful applicants will be supported by our current teams with a programme of training including competency books. We are a proactive Directorate who are keen to develop our staff

If you are short-listed, you will be invited to attend our next assessment centre on 30th November 2016 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. The assessment centre will be an opportunity for you get a feel for the culture, leadership, and learning opportunities within the Trust. The assessment centre includes a numeracy test and an interview to assess you against the core values and behaviours that our nurses pride themselves with.
