Our vacancy - Part Time, 30 Hours per week

Meadowpark provides short break respite for children and young people with complex healthcare and additional needs. We are a Registered Children’s home with Ofsted, achieving a good outcome. The home is located on the outskirts of Exeter in Devon. The team are caring, friendly, dedicated and dynamic with a variety of skills and knowledge providing an environment for children and young people to thrive. Alongside the complex healthcare needs of each child we focus on their social care needs to encourage and support development and life experiences through activities within the home and accessing the local community. We work with the children and young people to achieve their best possible outcomes, which are identified in care plans based on the children and young people’s individual needs. The home is open 52 weeks a year and provides a service in a flexible way based on the needs of the individuals accessing the service. The role will include responsibility for the supervision of an element of staff within the home and will lead and manage shifts. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the service whilst leading a shift. The post holder will also support staff in developing individual care plans to best support the young people. Are you enthusiastic about caring and improving lives of children and young people? The role will also involve:

  • Delivering, monitoring and maintaining our high standards of care
  • Being an active and participating member of the team sharing best practice whenever possible
  • A commitment to ongoing improvement and development of the service

You The essential qualities we are looking for in our Staff Nurse applicants are:

  • 1st Level Registration as an RGN/RCN/RNLD/RNMH
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and also as part of the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstration of ongoing professional development and a commitment to providing high quality, safe and effective care that meets the needs of patients
  • Ability to relate to young people with complex healthcare needs and colleagues in a sensitive manner
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to work across a team rota (please specify what hours are required here)
  • Keen to develop new skills and undertake clinical training
