Exciting opportunities have arisen for staff nurses wanting to develop their skills and knowledge in Respiratory Medicine on Ward 233 at The Royal Stoke Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated nurses with a commitment to delivering world-class patient care.

The ward is a 32-bedded area that cares for patients with Respiratory illness as well as patients with acute respiratory illnesses including, COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Lung Cancer. We also manage patients with Chest drains, Tracheostomies and End of Life Palliation. In addition, Ward 233 is also North West Midlands Area Cystic Fibrosis Unit, caring for adult cystic fibrosis patients following their transition from the paediatric unit. The ward team has excellent support from the Consultant Respiratory physicians and we have strong links with both the hospital respiratory nurse specialists and community staff to ensure best treatment and continuity.

Experience within this speciality is desirable however not essential, Newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses from other specialities are also encouraged to apply as mentorship and support will be provided by the ward team and the Trusts Clinical Educators. The ward has a dynamic workforce with a fantastic team working ethic, and is committed to supporting and developing our staff. Opportunities for training and other development activities will be provided.

The ward provides care over 7 day week period and the expectation will be that successful candidates will work on a rotational basis to include weekends and night duties.
