An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Staff Nurse to work in a full time position on ward Priory 4 Stroke which has 25 beds and Neurology Service at Sandwell General Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess experience of working in Stroke or having a Neurological background in this speciality. The candidate will be required to work alongside a large multi-disciplinary team. There will be ongoing training and competency assessment as part of the role working within this large and friendly unit. Informal visits are encouraged.

All our services cover the full range of day and night time working period; including days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis, as we prepare for a single acute site service in our new Midland Metropolitan Hospital, due to be completed in 2018.
This post is a permanent position. You will be required to undertake a Numeracy and Literacy assessment prior to the interview. If you have taken the assessment in the last 6 months and attained the pass mark then you will not be required to sit this again, however you will need to contact Recruitment to confirm your results.

The Midland Metropolitan Hospital is being built in Smethwick and will be open in October 2018. It will be the single acute hospital for Sandwell and West Birmingham, providing state of the art healthcare facilities for the population. The Midland Metropolitan will house the emergency department, maternity, acute inpatient wards and operating theatres. Sandwell Hospital remains the site for the Trust headquarters. As well as providing outpatient services, day case surgery and intermediate care beds, the Sandwell Treatment Centre will have a large urgent care centre. The City Hospital site will provide outpatient care and day case surgery from the Birmingham Treatment Centre. Intermediate care beds will remain on the City Hospital site along with the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
