Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) is the organisation which manages Leighton Hospital, Crewe, and Victoria Infirmary, Northwich.
The Trust was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and in 2008 became a Foundation Trust and now employs over 3,500 staff. We provide a comprehensive range of acute, maternity and child health services to a population of 280,000 living in the boroughs of Congleton, Crewe and Nantwich and Vale Royal.
The Child and Adolescent Unit (CAU) is a 50-bedded unit caring for children from 0-16 years of age. The unit is divided into 3 main areas, inpatients with 34 beds which includes; a high dependency unit (HDU), an adolescent unit, a day case /medical tests area and an assessment area. We admit children with various conditions, and their length of stay varies from a few hours to as long as the condition requires acute hospital care. Our philosophy of care is family centred and we encourage parents/carers to stay with their children where possible to help provide this.
Children have their whole lives ahead of them- and they deserve a focus on their care that reflects how precious their potential is. At MCHFT, our dedicated Paediatric Department concentrates exclusively on treating children via an expanding nurse-led team. Staff are valued, enthusiastic and work in a progressive team.
As much as this job is very rewarding there are times where it can be very distressing and as a team we endeavour to ensure that our systems and processes are in place to provide a supportive working environment for all members of staff.
Are you dynamic, outgoing and possess the ability to communicate with all age groups? If you are, this job is for you. We are looking for nurses who are reliable, flexible and enjoy working as part of a team, committed to the role and ensuring a quality service is delivered to both patients, and their family/carer.
The hours can be discussed at interview but the main shift pattern is long days/nights. There may be an opportunity to work shorter days and can be discussed at interview. The shift patterns you will be expected to work will cover days and nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota system.
You need to have the ability to communicate well, as this will be one of the main aspects to your role while delivering care to children of all ages.

We are also looking to recruit paediatric trained staff onto our nurse bank so if you looking for a more flexible, part time working pattern then we would love to hear from you too.
