The haematology unit is advertising one WTE (375hrs) band 5 vacancy.
The unit consists of an acute 10 bedded ward and a 6 chaired day care specializing in haematological disorders, including administration of chemotherapy, blood products, venepunction and cannulation, caring for the acutely ill i.e. neutropenic septic patient as well as post bone marrow transplant / immunocomromised patients.
The ward and day unit is a busy, acute area that has a high ratio of Level 2 patients with all aspects of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders.
I am looking for dynamic, motivated individual who is motivated and driven.
Clinical work experience, oral drug administration and IV administration skills are essential to be considered for this position. Mentorship qualification and Chemotherapy skills are desirable.
However it may will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
Rotation between ward and day unit as well as being able to work night shifts is required due to the skill mix.
We are working closely with the Sussex Cancer Center, Howard 1 ward (oncology) and our new “satellite unit” at PRH.
Therefore the suitable candidates need to be willing to work (if required) in those areas as well.
