The South Yorkshire Regional Services Care Group consists of 3 Directorates, Cardiac, Renal and Vascular.
The Cardiothoracic Centre - is based at the Northern General Hospital, providing services in Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Cardiology.
Most of our services are contained within the purpose-built Chesterman Wing with Firth 7 and CCU in the Firth wing; all of which provide top quality, modern facilities for the management of heart and lung disease, enabling our multidisciplinary teams to work together to provide a high standard of care for patients across South Yorkshire and the Humber Region.

The Sheffield Kidney Institute (SKI)- is one of the largest kidney units in the UK and Europe with a longstanding tradition of excellence in education and research as well as being a major tertiary referral centre for the South Yorkshire and North Trent regions.

The Sheffield Vascular Institute (SVI) is based at the Northern General Hospital and is one of the biggest Vascular Units in the UK with a team of Vascular Surgeons, Vascular Interventional Radiologists and Specialist Vascular Nurses. We are supported by a team of Consultant Vascular Anaesthetists, Radiographers and Nurses.

South Yorkshire Regional Services offer a variety of flexible working hours / patterns. We can provide a number of exciting opportunities, particularly encouraging rotation, to ensure our Staff Nurses are adequately prepared for ongoing development opportunities within the Trust.
The recruitment process will take place as part of an assessment centre. This will take place on the 1st December 2016 therefore please ensure that you are available on this date.
The Trust uses central assessment centres to recruit all Band 5 Nurses. This means that if you have applied for more than one vacancy with the Trust you will be invited to assessment via one vacancy, this does not mean that you are eliminated from any other Nursing vacancy’s you have applied for with the Trust.
The ambition of our process is to enable you to feel as relaxed as possible so that you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and skills within a supportive environment. Our interview process provides an objective assessment of your skills through group clinical scenarios and an individual interview. The scenarios may be based upon the generic role of the staff nurse/ODP or may include more specialised scenarios pertinent to specialist areas.
The interviewers on the clinical scenario panels may not be working in the area in which you wish to work, this is because nurses at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust all work to our PROUD principles and we believe that having a wider interview panel will improve the quality of your interview and maintain our objective assessment process.
During the interview process there is an opportunity for you to be interviewed on your own by two senior Trust staff. There will also be an opportunity for you to discuss your clinical interests and discuss the vacancies that we have.
For those staff who are currently employed by the Trust as a Staff Nurse, you should instead apply through the Staff Nurse transfer process via your line manager.
