Staff Nurse RGN or RMN - Elderly Nursing Home - Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - £17 per hour

Working hours: 33 hours - Nights

I am currently looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse to join this established team as a Staff Nurse on Nights. This large elderly and dementia nursing home is split over 3 units; general nursing, dementia and high dependency dementia. Due to the needs of the residents this is a very fast-paced and often reactive environment. You will have experience working in a clinical nursing setting and a passion for working with elderly patients, providing the optimum level of care. You will be working cohesively as part of an experienced healthcare team providing a high level of clinical care to elderly residents with a range of age related illness including providing end of life, palliative and respite care. As Staff Nurse in charge on nights, you will be expected to provide clinical leadership to healthcare staff, and be able to demonstrate both clinical and theoretical knowledge alongside having up to date knowledge of developments within nursing.

Located just outside of Stoke-on-Trent, the service is easily accessible via the A52 and the A5272. Due to the central location of the home, residents regularly pay visits to local garden centres, shops and parks, as well as having opportunities to travel further afield. You will be an excellent Nurse (RGN or RMN) with experience in a similar setting, looking for an exciting new Staff Nurse position within a prestigious nursing home for the elderly in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

The role of the Staff Nurse (RGN or RMN) is:

•Deliver the highest standards of care with dignity and respect
•Develop, review and update care plans
•Comply with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines
•Ensure medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
•Ensure all relevant policies and procedures are read, understood are adhered to by all staff.
•Provide clinical leadership & supervision for the healthcare staff
•Participate in the induction and training of all new staff on the unit
•Supervise and monitor standards of care and take appropriate action to improve standards when required
•Ensure all clinical documentation is well maintained and filed in the appropriate places

As a Staff Nurse (RGN or RMN) you will have:

•Experience in a similar setting (hospital or nursing home)
•A mental health or general nursing qualification (RGN or RMN)
•Current registration with the NMC (RGN or RMN)
•The legal right to work in the UK
