Due to the expansion of the Endoscopy service at Peterborough City Hospital, the Sterile Services Department (SSD) has vacancies Sterile Services Assistant.
SSD is responsible for the complete decontamination of surgical instrument sets and flexible endoscopes used by the Clinicians within the Trust, and external customers, making the service we provide a vital one.
Therefore, we are looking for a hard-working, confident and capable individual looking to work within a busy but friendly environment, where the staff have a real pride in what they do, and effective teamwork is essential.
Experience of Sterile Services and decontamination practices would be desirable, full training will be given on all aspects of the department, and ISO13485:2003 quality systems
Whilst no experience or qualifications are required, you must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
We are looking for people who are able to work equally well within a team, or independently and unsupervised. You must have good communication skills, be well organised and able to work under pressure.
The position includes weekend and Bank Holiday working and the post holder will need to demonstrate flexibility in their approach to cover shifts variations for the changing patterns of the Trust’s operating theatres.
