West Suffolk Hospital is a vibrant, friendly and accessible acute general hospital, set in a 19-hectare parkland site on the edge of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. We have around 430 beds open at any time and serve a population of 275,000. The award-winning Hospital is celebrating after the most recent NHS staff survey shows it is the best hospital in East Anglia for being recommended by its staff.
The Trust also received positive feedback from staff in a range of other key areas, with West Suffolk scoring in the top 20% of trusts nationally against seven criteria:
Our aim is to create a safe, supportive and honest environment by caring for each other, listening, being helpful, working together and valuing each other’s time and contribution so that we can create a working culture in which every member of staff can thrive. We encourage all of our staff to make it the norm to start every interaction with “Hello, my name is”. It is a small gesture, but one that really makes a difference in terms of building good working relationships with patients and colleagues. You can find out more by clicking on the 'Hello, my name is' link.
To help us achieve our vision and values, we have a set of Patients First Service Standards. As a member of our team, you will need to live these standards, placing them at the heart of everything you do. You can find out more by clicking on the Patients First link.
