The core aim of the service is to promote recovery and rehabilitation so that patients can enjoy a fuller quality of life and progress to less restrictive environments as soon as possible. There are a total of 35 beds across two units (Low secure services & Psychiatric intensive care Unit (PICU)

The service aims to provide early, safe and sustainable discharge ensuring young people spend the least possible time in secure care.

The Hospital site is located in Buxton, close to the historic City of Norwich and is located just off the A140 (heading from Norwich towards Cromer, turn right after the church at the crossroads onto Buxton Road – then take the second turning on the left to find the hospital).
