Support Worker - Chippenham - 22.5 hours

Would you like to help support people with learning disabilities to live meaningful lives and learn new skills?

We have an exciting new opportunity for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team in Chippenham where we support 7 service users across three services all very close to each other. We have various hours available, including part-time and full-time opportunities in all three services.

Your role will be to support our service users with different levels of needs in all aspects of their lives.One of our services, supporting a gentleman with autism, is paid at an enhanced rate of £8.75 an hour. The gentleman loves walking and singing and to be successful in this role you would need to be confident supporting someone who may display challenging behaviour.

Some of the things you will be assisting our service users with include helping them to shop, prepare meals, understand their money and provide support in practical aspects of their lives. Our service users love making friends and have a variety of hobbies they enjoy. You would be helping each person to live their life in a way that makes sense to them, to exercise independence and help them to learn new skills that enhances their personal development.

You do not need any qualifications or prior experience of working in social care or with adults with learning disabilities (although these are helpful) but you do need the right values and attitudes. It is essential that you are person-centred in your approach, reliable and flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated about contributing to the wellbeing of others, and have brilliant communication skills.
