Support Worker - Hayes, Uxbridge - Various Hours Available

Job Description

We have permanent full time contracts of 37.5 hours per week and part time contracts of 22.5 or 30 hours per week available for Support Workers in our services in Hayes. Working times will be on a rota basis with shifts spread across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays including mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins. Typical shifts include but not limited to Early shifts 7-14:30, mid shifts 10:00- 17:30, late shifts 14-21:00 or 14:-22:00 followed by a sleep in (22:00-0700), Waking Night 21:00- 0700. All our rota's are prepared ahead of time so you will always know what times you are scheduled to work however, flexibility is essential for us to meet the needs of the people we support.

The successful candidates will be working as part of s team that supports 6 adults who are aged between 19 -67 and have varying levels of learning and physical disability. Generally support is given with all aspects of daily life including cooking , shopping, cleaning, personal care, medication, finances, health needs and appointments. The client group includes individuals who have dementia ,diabetes and asthma and someone who needs to uses a hoist for transferring into wheelchair and someone who uses a walking frame in the house but needs a wheelchair to access the community ( full training will be provided and paid for by Mencap).

3 of the people we support go to college several days a week. If you are a fun loving and outgoing person you will fit right in with us. The people we support enjoy outings to local places and day trips further afield, lunch/drinks at the local pub, cinema, parties, evening local clubs where they meet friends, karaoke, shopping, local markets, bowling etc , there is also a local theatre which is popular for pantomime and tribute bands. A UK driving licence holder is desirable but not essential for this role. You do not need to have your own car as there is a house vehicle available for all people we support to share use of .
