Location: St Ives - Cornwall
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week - Various shift patterns (7 hours)
Support Workers - £8.17 per hour (£15,931 per annum) enhancements for nights and weekend working excellent benefits
Healthcare Assistants ( HCA ) - £7.25 - £7.40 (£14,430 per annum) depending on qualifications and experience excellent benefits
We are currently recruiting for experienced support workers and Healthcare assistants ( HCA ) within an established elderly residential and nursing care home.
We are looking to recruit experienced professionals who work well as part of a team and have good communication skills. The role will be reporting into the Senior Support Worker and Deputy Manager; looking after the residents either on a one to one individual basis or in a more communal environment. This is a lovely, spacious home that offers a high standard of care for residents with a variety of care needs including a combination of mental health and physical problems. Each resident is given person-centred, tailored care programmes to suit their individual needs.
Your job as either a Support Worker or a Health care assistant ( HCA ) will consist of supporting residents with their physical care and personal hygiene, effectively communicating with them as well as their families and other members of staff. You will encourage service users to maintain maximum independence whilst taking into account their physical and emotional condition. You will also need to check and accurately maintain individual records, accurately relaying any changes in individuals requirements and familiarising yourself with any updates to users conditions at the beginning of each shift. You will need to help service users both inside and outside the service going to a variety of recreational and leisure activities within the local community.
There would be a full comprehensive induction and appropriate training for successful applicants.
- An NVQ2 in care or equivalent
- The ability to review and maintain accurate records
- Experienced working within Care
