Role: Support Worker - Residential Care
Salary: £7.25 -£7.50 per hour - DOE
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Your day as a Support Worker could be taking the young people to School or College some of who may need support while their and after School and non-School days taking an active part in activities, Including Cinema, Bowling, Social Walks, Shopping etc. We are looking for people that are outgoing and can motive the young people to lead a fulfilled life. Working as part of a team but can work on their own meeting the needs of the young people. Not necessarily with experience but willing to learn and can use their own initiative.
The children and young people that we work with have learning disabilities challenging behaviour and need varying degrees of support some may need personal care.
- Shifts: Including a mixture of 12 hour shifts, Days - 08:00-20:00. Nights - 20:00-08:00 Including weekends
- Overtime available
- Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year

You will be based within one of our homes in the Consett area. We currently have 2 adult homes and 3 children's homes in the Country Durham area.
We are a specialist service for young people and adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. The service offers enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our residents. The service aims to actively enable the residents to achieve their personal best and seek ways of gaining and growing new life skills. The service objectives focus on active support and raising awareness of autism in the local community.
It is important for all the residents to have staff who can understand their needs, wishes and preferences. You could therefore play an integral part in encouraging residents’ independence, by providing individualized strategies alongside structured activities and times of natural relax through the day.
Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and, just like our service users, you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.
