Martins, which was formerly part of the HQL group, provides assessment and specialist support for adults with profound, severe and moderate learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum conditions, who sometimes present with severely challenging behaviours. Some of our service users also have communication difficulties and other conditions such as Epilepsy.
The service offers 24/7 specialist residential support and is committed to empowering and encouraging the individuals who live there. Staff will provide the support needed to enable them to reach their goals and to develop their self esteem and the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
The service is also supported by our Person Centred Approaches team who provide positive behaviour support strategies to individuals using the service, and their team of support staff, to enable them to achieve positive outcomes.
As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital; experience however is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.
All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland. We are an equal opportunities employer.
