Job Description

At Turning Point, we support people with learning disabilities across England. As a Team Leader, you’ll make a real difference to the lives of the people we support as you provide high quality services that support each of our service users to achieve their potential. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team.

Raising the bar for person-centred care, you’ll provide support and advice to the people who use our services. Of course, that means not only putting their well-being first, but providing an outstanding service for their families too. People’s lives will be truly changed by you. We’ll offer you the chance to thrive on a wide range of challenges; you’ll develop flexible and realistic support packages in collaboration with individuals, GPs, social services colleagues and other professionals, ensuring that support plans reflect each person’s needs, goals and aspirations. You’ll promote, monitor and review independent living ensuring people’s personal choice, advocacy and support –encouraging service users to stretch themselves, where appropriate.

A real team player with training/education and experience gained in the learning disability sector, it’s essential that you have a working knowledge of issues related to learning disabilities, as well as current legislation and de-escalation techniques. We’re also looking for a Team Leader with experience of managing complex needs who can quickly adapt within a challenging and changeable environment. We expect our Team Leaders to bring the strong communication skills needed to tailor their message to a variety of audiences, too.
