Job Description

Contemplation Homes are looking for a Team Leader for their Northcott House Residential Care and Nursing Home in Gosport.

As part of the senior care team the post holder will lead a team of Nursing Support Assistants to carry out person centred care including routine personal care duties for residents in support of the Managers & Registered Nurses and will regularly work unsupervised.  To lead and organise assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the Home environment.  To undertake medication administration within the care setting.

36 hours per week, night duties.

This position is subject to two acceptable references and an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, the cost of which will be met by the successful applicant.

Job Requirements

NVQ3/Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent or lapsed nursing qualification/Nurse with PRN issued from NMC awaiting PIN number.

Up to date Medication Competency Certificate.

Evidence of team working skills and ability to work using own initiative.

Knowledge of Care Quality Commission and Regulations under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

Ability to fulfil criteria outlined in the job description.


Good communication skills both verbal/non verbal and written.

Proven leadership skills.

Effective listening and interpersonal skills.

Time management skills.

Satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service check and Adult First check (DBS).

Two satisfactory references including previous employer.

Genuine interest in working with older people.

Self motivated and willing to develop professionally.

Professional attitude and presentation.

Understanding of private sector funding of beds.


Flexible and innovative.

Honest and trustworthy.

Kind, empathetic and compassionate.

Patient and understanding.

Desirable - Clean Driving Licence.
