Team Manager, Band 7 – St Helier Liaison Psychiatry Team

We have an exciting opportunity for the position of Team Manager for St Helier Liaison Psychiatry Team. The St Helier Liaison Psychiatry Service provides a comprehensive service to patients, clinicians and carers on the St Helier Hospital site. This involves providing a broad range of specialist psychosocial treatments for individual patients, a specialist consultation-liaison service to referring clinicians and clinical teams, assisting them in decision making in difficult and complex cases, and providing both formal and informal education to qualified and junior staff. Staff within the service represent the Mental Health Trust in the general hospital setting and will play a vital role in communicating and maintaining a good working relationship between the two institutions.

The service is staffed by a team of autonomous Liaison Nurse Practitioners and with leadership from the Team Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist; we are looking for a Team Manager who will take responsibility for the clinical and operational management of the St Helier Liaison Psychiatry Team.

This is a challenging but rewarding role, offering an exciting opportunity to a nurse who possesses strong assessment and therapeutic skills. You will need the ability to work autonomously whilst still contributing to the team as a whole. We offer excellent staff support through clinical supervision and teamwork.

You are expected to be empathetic and perform consistently in a dynamic fast-paced environment. You should have the ability to build relationships very quickly and share learning within the Team, Trustwide and national forums. All new non-medical employees will be subject to this period, the length of which is dependent on the grade of the position (3 months for AfC bands 1-4, and 6 months for AfC bands 5+).
