Job Description

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is looking to attract high quality Theatre Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Lake District. We provide a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay. One of the largest employers in the area, we have approximately 6,000 staff working across five sites; Furness General Hospital (Barrow in Furness), Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital (Kendal), Ulverston Community Health Centre and Queen Victoria Centre (Morecambe). We have Theatres on all 3 main sites; Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness and can offer suitable candidates an investment in professional development opportunities.

Our Theatre services are currently commencing a program in conjunction with the AfPP to train staff in Human Factors and achieve AfPP quality type mark.

If you are successful at the shortlisting stage you will be invited to spend the afternoon with us on Friday,18 November 2016 at Furness General Hospital.

The afternoon will begin with a presentation, after which there will be a drugs calculation test and a 1:1 interview followed by a tour of the hospital site where you will have the opportunity to talk to members of staff.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
