Job Description

Spire Healthcare
Theatre Sterile Services Unit (TSSU) Assistant
£15,495 per annum + benefits
Full Time

At Spire Healthcare, we provide the highest standards of healthcare, from the moment our patient gets in touch with us until after treatment has been completed. With over 30 years’ experience, we’re proud of our dedicated and highly trained team, which consistently achieves excellent results. What sets us apart is our people, from the very best medical professionals to attentive and highly experienced support staff. Talented people like you.

Join our new brand hospital in Nottingham, and you will be in at the beginning of a committed team striving for excellence. You will provide our multidisciplinary perioperative team with an exemplary sterile supplies service by reprocessing and distributing medical and surgical reusable devices for use in patient care. Alongside accurately checking instruments that have been used in patient operations back into the department, you will complete paperwork and handle colleague enquiries. Although the role is not patient-facing, you’ll have the chance to play a key support role in ensuring high quality patient care.

Job Requirements

Experience of working in a similar role within a TSSU unit together with knowledge of surgical instrumentation would be desirable. We’re more interested, however, in your flexible and self-motivated attitude, strong communication skills and ability to work with minimum supervision. Physically able to lift loads and use manual handling aids and willing to work with chemicals and bodily fluids, you will be a confident team player, able to use a range of Microsoft Office applications. Above all, you’ll share our passion for caring and putting patients at the heart of everything you do.

If you’re keen to treat people, rather than patients, we need you on our team.
