Applications are invited for the above post of Trust Grade (CT1-CT2 equivalent) based at St Richard’s Hospitals, part of the Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This post is vacant from 1 October 2016 for a period of 10 months until August 2017 to cover a period of sickness absence.
The successful candidates will join the Division of Medicine attached to either Department of Medicine for the Elderly or General Medicine. This post will involve acute and ongoing care of Elderly and General Medicine patients based at St Richard’s. Although it is not a training post the post-holder will work alongside and share on call duties with our trainees. Access to supervision and training opportunities is excellent and post holders will be supported in maintaining their training portfolio.
Although not a formal training post, the post holder will be expected to participate in the teaching programme and undertake work based assessments.
Both St Richard’s Hospital and Worthing Hospital have a long tradition of high quality postgraduate education. There are numerous teaching sessions available in medicine including a weekly grand round, care of the elderly meetings, cardiology meetings and rheumatology meetings. There is fortnightly CT teaching. Active participation in the audit programme is encouraged.
