Trust Grade ST Lower Level in Elderly medicine - 2x posts fixed term 6 months in first instance. Applications are invited for the post of Trust Grade ST Lower Level in Elderly Medicine based at Good Hope Hospital. The 2 posts are to join a team of 22 junior doctors and 3 registrars providing supervised inpatient care for older patients with acute illness as well as those requiring specialist hospital based rehabilitation in stroke ward. Duties will also include some outpatient in day hospital clinics under the guidance of consultant medical staff. Duties of the post will include - provide clinical care for older patients with acute medical illness as well as those requiring specialist rehabilitation, admitted to elderly care wards in the acute hospital. There is a ward based system of care with excellent consultant supervision and registrar support. The Trust grade doctor will join a team of 12 doctors in training on the elderly care wards and will share clinical duties pro rata. The post holder will be encouraged to participate in general medical on call in the current banding. There will be one outpatient or day hospital clinic per week, with consultant and registrar support. The duties will include clinical administration such as electronic discharge summaries and discharge prescribing.
