Trust Doctor StR Lower (CT 1/2 level) Non Training Post – OrthoGeriatrics

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our now well established OrthoGeriatric Service for a Trust Doctor StR Lower within the Service Line of Trauma and Orthopaedics at Derriford Hospital. This post is available from August for a fiixed term contract for 6 months, possibly extendable to August 2017. This service began at the Derriford Hospital with the appointment of a full-time Speciality Doctor in 2002 and complemented by the appointment of a full time Ortho-geriatric Consultant in 2012.

This post is Monday to Friday with a 1:4 ward cover commitment for all orthopaedic wards (elective, trauma and geriatrics) at the weekend and attracts appropriate banding.

The successful candidate will join a department of 21 orthopaedic surgeons with special interests in trauma, paediatrics, revision arthroplasty, upper limb, knee, foot and ankle, spinal and rheumatoid surgery. Scoliosis surgery is performed in Exeter. The successful candidates will work closely with the other orthopaedic surgeons and with other professions and departments.
