Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust was formed in 2006 and became integrated with NHS Coventry in April 2011.

The Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

Services are provided to a population of over one million people living in Coventry and Warwickshire and also a wider geographical area in some of our specialist services, we see on average around 5,000 patients every day.

Volunteer Shop Assistant

An exciting volunteering opportunity has arisen within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust for Volunteer Café Assistants.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals with excellent communication and customer care skills, to assist in running our Coffee and Chats Café at St Michaels Hospital in Warwick, alongside service users and staff.

The role will include assisting to serve beverages to service users, staff and visitors, whilst promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

CWPT recognises the value that volunteers bring to the organisation through their skills and experience.

Our Volunteers need to be….

• Understanding rather than judgemental about a patient’s situation or circumstances

• Respectful of a patient’s individuality, respect different cultural values and work in a non-discriminatory manner

• Able to listen to and communicate with patients, carers and staff

• Patient and have a good sense of humour, as well as the desire and commitment to improving the lives of those with mental health disabilities/ problems

Previous experience of working within a mental health environment is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be given to successful applicants. What’s important is that you possess the qualities outlined in the attached Role Description, and can demonstrate CWPT values.
